Man held for demanding Rs 5 lakhs bribe on behalf of ACP
ACB sleuths nabbed the 32-year-old Omkar Jadhav while accepting Rs 1 lakh as the first instalment of the bribe on February 17.

The Pune unit of the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a person for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh on behalf of an assistant commissioner of police (ACP).
ACB has identified the accused as Omkar Bharat Jadhav (32), resident of Wakad. According to the ACB, Jadhav works as a driver and is a native of Ahmednagar district.
ACB stated in a press release issued on Sunday that it received a complaint from a citizen against whom an inquiry into a land-related cheating case was being looked into by an ACP attached to the Pimpri Chinchwad police.
In his application to the ACB, the complainant stated that the accused Jadhav was demanding Rs 5 lakh on behalf of the ACP for not lodging an offence against him.
The ACB team initiated a probe into this complaint. ACB sleuths verified the complaint and then laid a trap in the parking lot of a hospital in Pune. Here, the ACB sleuths nabbed Jadhav red-handed while accepting Rs 1 lakh as the first instalment of the bribe, on February 17.
A first information report (FIR) was lodged against Jadhav at the Koregaon Park police station.
“So far we have arrested Omkar Jadhav. Further probe is on to know whether the ACP was involved in this offence or not,” said deputy superintendent of police Nitin Jadhav, the investigating officer.
