IMD issues red alert for Pune today as city sees heavy rain
The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday also issued a red alert for Satara, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared a red alert for Pune on Tuesday as heavy rain lashed several areas of the city in the morning. A red alert has also been issued for Satara, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts for three hours.
“Intense spell is very likely to occur at isolated places over Raigad, Ratnagiri and intense spell with possibility of thunderstorm is very likely to occur in ghats of Pune and Satara in next 3 hours,” the alert issued at 10.40 am states.
The 8.30 am IMD weather report showed that Shivajinagar received 6.9mm in the last 24 hours. However, rainfall picked up later with showers in Swargate, Wanowrie, Bavdhan, Sinhagad Road, Baner-Pashan, and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Other areas in Pune district also received high rainfall in the last 24 hours. While Kurvande received 96.5 mm of rain, Bhor received 56.5 mm, Talegaon 17.0 mm, Nimgiri 15.5 mm, Lavale 12.0 mm, and Chinchwad 8.0 mm. Haveli and Baramati received the lowest rainfall in the district at 0.5 mm and 0.2 mm, respectively.
According to the IMD forecast for Shivajinagar for the day, the maximum temperature is expected to be 27°C while the minimum is expected to be 22°C. Humidity is expected to be between 92 and 80. Hadapsar is expected to be the warmest area with a minimum temperature of 24.1°C, while Bhor is expected to be the coolest area with a minimum temperature of 20.7°C.
