I-T dept raids 2 outlets of Pune-based Nilkanth Jewellers

The shutters of the outlets were downed after the income tax officers reached the spots. Officers said that the outlets will remain closed till the raids continue.

According to officers, who are a part of the raid team, the move by the Income Tax department came on the basis of “information received” on possible tax evasion.

The raids come amid the festive season when gold buying is on the upswing. The income tax department has been on the lookout for tax evasion and concealment of incomes.
