After all the hue and cry,SRK starrer My Name Is Khan has so far received a good response in the city. With the security remaining intact and no records of the Sena agitations across the city,majority of the theatres in the city started with 70- 80 per cent occupancy in the morning on Sunday reaching to houseful shows towards the end of the day. Things were no different on Monday.
“All the three shows at Westend on Sunday were houseful. There are still 30- 35 policemen guarding the theatre and we have tightened the private security as well. In fact we are not allowing any kind of baggage inside the theatre,” said Chandrakant Jamdade,manager,Westend.
Gold Big Cinemas,one of the nearest multiplexes from German Bakery witnessed 10-15 per cent dip in the MNIK collections compared to Saturday. The police have stepped up the security in provided to us. In fact,on Sunday today morning,there were two police vans outside Gold Big Cinemas. The shows are running and people are still coming to watch the film, said Sandeep shetty,manager,Gold Big Cinemas.
Rahul Multiplex voluntarily sought to reduce the police security that was provided to them. We asked them to reduce the number to just six policemen from earlier 25- 30. But despite that,all the five shows at Rahul were houseful, said M S Bhandare.
