391 students graduate from Pune’s Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics
In his address, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan underscored the importance of keeping one’s aspirations in line with that of the society.

As many as 391 students were conferred their degrees at the 29th convocation of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics held on Saturday. Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan was the chief guest. In his address, Pradhan underscored the importance of keeping one’s aspirations in line with that of the society.
“Now, you (graduates) are competent enough to take full responsibility to improve society as some of you will enter academia, some politics, some administration, and so on… In the coming 25 years, India will be a happening place in the world… The responsibility of taking the nation forward will rest on your shoulders,” said the minister.
At the convocation, 65-year-old Dr Kishore Supekar was awarded his PhD degree, having started it in 2016. Supekar served as managing director of National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India Limited for 13 years, and is currently a consultant there.
Ambika Anand topped MSc in economics and was awarded the M V Naam Joshi Prize at the convocation. Shristi Salian, the topper of population studies and health economics, was awarded the Mr Dilip and Miss Deepali Kale Prize.
Vidhi Sharma, the topper of International business economics and finance, was awarded the Shri Sharad Chandra Soman prize. Dhaval Chitley topped in Agri-Business economics.
