For India to become super power, the youth need to be productive: C N R Rao

“India’s dream of becoming a super power will be realised by the strength of its youth,” said eminent scientist C N R Rao, who was recently conferred Bharat Ratna for his contribution to science.

“For India to become a super power, the youth need to be productive. For that, there is a need for the youth in this country to get away from conventional and easy ways and take up research in new and innovative paths,” said Rao. He was in the city on

Wednesday to attend the 15th convocation ceremony of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. Chief guest Rao was awarded the honorary Doctor of Science degree on at the event. The university also conferred honorary Doctor of Letters on renowned singer Asha Bhosle.

“The work of education is to realise the inherent divinity in man. Students of higher education should imbibe social awareness within them,” said Narendra Jadhav, member of Planning Commission of India.
