Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Sunday ruled out any lack of coordination among the three Mahayuti partners over government formation in Maharashtra and said he would abide by the decision of his party’s high command in matters of power sharing within the alliance.

Shinde, who had returned to his native Dare village citing health issues after a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, made the statements during a press conference at the village in Satara before leaving for Thane.

Talking about his health, Shinde said he was feeling fine and had come home to rest after working relentlessly over the last two and a half years and during the Assembly elections.

“After meeting the high command, I assured them that there are no ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’ from my side. Shiv Sena will give its full support to the decision. This is my final stance,” he said.

Asked about the home minister position, Shinde said the decision would be finalised in an upcoming meeting. “I had one meeting with Amit Shah and another is scheduled. The decision will be taken there. We are in the majority and accountable to the public, not the Opposition,” he said.

Shinde dismissed the Opposition’s claims of EVM tampering. “They didn’t raise this topic when they won the Lok Sabha elections or state elections like the recent Jharkhand polls. This win is the result of the love shown by young girls who benefited from the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, not EVM tampering,” he said.

Further, Shinde attributed the Mahayuti’s landslide victory to the welfare and development schemes implemented by his government over the last two and a half years. “No other government has rolled out welfare schemes like ours, benefiting women, youth, and farmers. We have remained dedicated to public welfare,” the former chief minister said.

Shinde elaborated on the targeted approach of these schemes, explaining that they focused on young girls and boys from each family. “We built an ecosystem to ensure that benefits reached every family, whether through the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana or stipends for the youth,” he added.
