“The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has said that they will conduct enquiries on various welfare schemes of ours, like Ladki Bahin scheme, when they come to power, and will put all officers and politicians involved in jail… I’m ready to go to jail 100 times if I have to for my welfare schemes,” said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde while campaigning for Mahayuti candidate and incumbent Shivajinagar MLA Siddharth Shirole at the Shaheed Tukaram Ombale ground in Gokhale Nagar, Pune.

Shinde also launched an attack on the opposition saying, “They are again trying to create the bogey that the Constitution will be changed. People can be fooled once, not time and again.”

Shinde was referring to the Congress’s campaign in the Lok Sabha in April-May where it accused the BJP government of planning to change the Constitution once it regains power. The MVA won 30 of the 48 seats in the state on the back of this campaign.

The Ladki Bahin scheme and infrastructure projects in the state were the main focus of the speeches made by Shinde, Shirole, State Minister Chandrakant Patil, Pune MP Muralidhar Mohol in their speeches.

Mohol, who is also Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said, “The speed of development in Pune has increased due to the three — Fadnavis, Shinde, and Pawar. A huge number of FDIs have also come to Maharashtra… infrastructure projects like The Coastal Road, Atal Setu in Mumbai, Metro and river projects in Pune… have bettered the future of the common man.”

Shirole said, “Pune University flyover will be complete by the end of January… I request the Chief Minister for bigger water tanks for public toilets, which will help in keeping them clean. I also request for an increase in FSI permits which will help construct more houses for people.”
