Defence diary: Commodore Rangachari assumes command of INS Shivaji

Commodore P J Rangachari assumed command of INS Shivaji,the premier Marine Engineering Training Establishment of the Indian Navy on December 24 from Commodore Kalidoss Srinivas. A ceremonial parade was held on the occasion. Commissioned in the Navy on August 12,1985 Commodore Rangachari specialised in Advanced Marine Engineering Course from UK and completed his PhD in Systems and Control engineering from the IIT,Bombay and the Staff Course from Defence Services Staff College,Wellington,said a press release.

Award for Raksha Polycoats MD

Abhijit Sarkar,managing director (MD),Raksha Polycoats,Bhosari,received the Asia Pacific Award for Most Promising Entrepreneurship-2011. Small Scale Industry,mainly dealing with Rubber Coated Fabrics and Inflatables. Raksha has business with the Defence Department and have contributed to Remotely Operated Vehicle Daksh,besides projects in the field of space,said a press release.
