Crux of the Matter

From golf to art,the two-day fundraiser golf tournament and charity auction organised by Plan India,was attended by the who’s who of the city. The event was hosted by industrialists and ardent golfers,Arti and Atul Kirloskar. On Saturday,the first event – Tee Off with Plan – saw participation from well-known golfers like Padmaja Shirke,Bhausahib Patwardhan,Manisha Jitha and Narrotam Chowdhary. They were introduced to the organisation’s programme ‘Saath Saath’ through which they could sponsor a child in a community development programme and address his/her basic needs like education,health and livelihood opportunities. The charity auction was held on Sunday at Vivanta By Taj Blue Diamond and was attended by film-makers Govind Nihalini,Amol Palekar and Sandhya Gokhale. Shivani Wazir Pasrich compered the event while auctioneer Angira Arya conducted the auction which featured various artworks,luxury goods and memorabilia. The children of New English School,Koyande,Maval Taluka,also put up an interesting skit for the invitees. The funds raised through these events will be used for school improvement programmes.
