The Pune Municipal Corporation on Saturday started the work on the long-awaited riverside road construction connecting Vithalwadi to Pune-Mumbai highway and flyover at Dhayari Phata on Sinhagad road. The four lane 2.3 km riverside road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 23.93 crore in 18 months. The road is expected to be an alternative for the citizens using the Sinhagad road which is having heavy traffic every day. The 472 meter flyover at Dhayari Phata will be constructed at a cost of Rs 28.10 crore. The four-lane flyover and canal bridge will start from Dhayari Phata in the PMC jurisdiction and would facilitate smooth flow of traffic.
