Bus rams into bike, 22-year-old dies

In another incident, a 35-year-old bike-born man was killed in Kothrud when his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding tempo at Azad Nagar on Friday morning.

A 22-year-old man was killed when his two-wheeler hit a bus coming from the wrong side in a one-way lane at Jijamata Chowk near Shaniwar Wada late Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Rohit Dhawade (22), resident of Dapodi. The bus driver, who is employed with the Pune Mahanager Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML), has been nabbed. The victim’s friend, Momin Khan registered an offence with the Faraskhana Police Station.

“The PMPML bus driver was totally at fault. He entered the one-way lane violating traffic rules. The boys were riding the bike at good speed and were suddenly hit by the bus,” said Police Sub-Inspector C H Madhe.

In another incident, a 35-year-old bike-born man was killed in Kothrud when his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding tempo at Azad Nagar on Friday morning. The incident happened between 10.30 and 10.45 am. The victim, Chhotelal Nisad, a resident of Shastri Nagar, was declared dead after he was brought to the nearest hospital. The police have booked the tempo driver, Ramdas Gujar, a resident of Karve Nagar but are yet to arrest him.

In another incident, a bike-borne person was killed on Saturday morning when an unknown individual rammed into his two-wheeler on the NDA Road leading to his death. The victim, Kiran Kore, 55, resident of Alandi Road, Vishrantwadi, was heading towards Pashan when the accident took place. He received fatal injuries and succumbed to them.
