Beed Traffic changes in Pune for Akhand Maratha Samaj protest today

Maratha activist Manoj Jarange-Patil is expected to be in Pune for the “Jan Akrosh Morcha”, a protest rally from Lal Mahal to Pune district collectorate, starting at 10 am on Sunday.

Pune city police have imposed traffic changes in view of the massive protest called by the local unit of Akhand Maratha Samaj, Maharashtra Rajya on Sunday to condemn the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed and Somnath Suryawanshi’s death in police custody in Parbhani.

Maratha activist Manoj Jarange-Patil is expected to be in Pune for the “Jan Akrosh Morcha”, a protest rally from Lal Mahal to Pune district collectorate, starting at 10 am on Sunday.

To prevent congestion, the traffic control branch of Pune city police have made certain changes like banning cars and buses on Shivaji road and Ganesh road from 9 am till the protest ends. Similarly, big vehicles, including four-wheelers and buses, have been banned on Nehru road, stated a press release issued by DCP Sandip Bhajibhakare.

Vehicles going from Shivaji road to Swargate would be diverted at S G Barve chowk to Jangli Maharaj (JM) road and Tilak road. Also, vehicles from S G Barve chowk to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) would be diverted to alternate routes via Rani Lakshmibai statue on J M road. Vehicles from Daruwala bridge to Jijamata chowk would also be diverted on alternate routes.

Vehicles from Seven Loves chowk to Maldhakka junction would be diverted from Power House chowk. And, vehicles from Maldhakka junction to Pune district collectorate would be diverted from Bolai chowk towards Sadhu Vaswani chowk.

Vehicles going towards Pune district collectorate from Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue in Pune Camp would be diverted from Banerjee chowk towards Power House via Samarth police station road.
