Couple forced to remove clothes, robbed at knife point in Baramati

The victims have lodged an FIR at Baramati city police station, following which police launched a search for the two thieves.

Two unidentified men forced a couple to remove clothes and robbed them of gold jewellery worth Rs 90,000 at knife point near Baramati airport around 7.30 pm on May 10.

The victims have lodged an FIR at Baramati city police station, following which police launched a search for the two thieves.

Police said a 21-year-old woman and her male friend had gone to the Baramati Airport area in a four wheeler. While they were chit-chatting, the two masked thieves reached the spot and allegedly pulled the couple out of the vehicle. They allegedly went on to thrash the woman’s friend and looted her jewellery at knife point.

As per the complaint, the thieves took the couple to a secluded spot, where they forced the couple to remove their clothes and photographed them. They threatened to make the photos viral on social media, police said, if they reported the incident to the police.

A team of Baramati police station has launched a probe into the incident.
