Accused in SP College forged marksheet case arrested

Almost six months after a forged marksheet was recovered from Mandke,an FIR was finally registered in the case on Monday.

A day after an FIR was filed in the SP College forged marksheet case,the police on Tuesday arrested main accused in the case.

Speaking to Newsline,P P Kirdat,Assistant Police Inspector,Senadatta police chowky,said the accused,Pranav Dnyaneshwar Mandke,is an adult as he has completed 18 years of age.

“Mandke is not a minor. Further interrogation of the accused would provide us leads into forged marksheet case,” she said. Police said the accused is likely to be produce in court on Wednesday.

Almost six months after a forged marksheet was recovered from Mandke,an FIR was finally registered in the case on Monday. He has been booked under Sections 467 ( forgery of valuable security),468 (forgery for purpose of cheating),471 (using forged document as a genuine) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.

As per the preliminary inquiry by the state board,Mandke had got 71.84 per cent marks as per the online results declared last year. A week later,after the hard copies of the marksheet were distributed,Mandke claimed he had scored 95.95 per cent.
