An 80-year-old man from Bhawani Peth on Friday died of swine flu (H1N1) at Poona hospital,becoming the fourth person to die of the disease since January. According to PMC health officials,he had fever and dry cough from February 10 and had general weakness. He had travelled from January 20-28 to Rajasthan where swine flu cases were being reported since early January. He was admitted to Kawedia hospital on February 12 and discharged a day later. His condition worsened and he was shifted to Inamdar hospital on February 16 to February 20 after which he was shifted to Poona hospital on February 21. His throat swab tested positive for H1N1 on February 22. As many as 48,093 people have been screened for swine flu since January. While 4,237 were given Tamiflu,of 532 throat swabs tested,67 tested positive. While four persons are admitted to various hospitals,two are said to be critical. In Pimpri Chinchwad,of 67 throat swabs tested,16 tested positive.
