3 killed in road accidents

Three persons were killed in separate road mishaps in the past two days in Pune. A speeding motorcycle knocked down a pedestrian.

Three persons were killed in separate road mishaps in the past two days in Pune. A speeding motorcycle knocked down a pedestrian,causing his death near Mhalsakant College,Nigdi,around 8.25 pm on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Bajrang Walunj,a resident of Pradhikaran,Akurdi.

The Nigdi police have booked the motorcycle rider,Vaibhav Suryakant Yeole (23),a resident of Sabhajinagar Ganesh complex in Chinchwad. According to police,when Yeole and his friend Vishnu Dwivedi were going via Mhalsakant College on a motorcycle,Yeole lost control over the motorcycle and hit Walunj,leaving him injured. Local residents and police rushed Walunj to a nearby hospital,but he was declared brought dead. Yeole and Dwivedi were also injured.

A cyclist Prakash Maruti Lokhande (21) was killed in a road mishap on Magarpatta Road,Hadapsar,on Wednesday evening. A complaint has been lodged at the Hadapsar police station. According to police,Lokhande was on his way to Magarpatta,when a heavy truck coming from the back side hit him. Police took Lokhande to hospital,but he succumbed to injuries.

In another incident,an 55-year-old died in a road mishap near Ardhana bridge on Alandi Road.
