The Pune police have arrested three persons for robbing three men at gunpoint near Chowpati,Bhide Bridge.On October 25 Ramjilal Jat (25),a tailor who resides in Sadashiv Peth,went to Chowpati with his friend Om Prakash for dinner. As the duo was returning,three men intercepted their path on Bhide Bridge and took Jat and Om Prakash to New English School grounds. There they forced Jat to call his friend Raju Jat.
The robbers stole money and debit cards from the three and withdrew Rs 8,000 from an ATM using the stolen card. The robbers have been identified as Sumit Nana Vairat (23) of Nana Peth,Deepak Pilaji Salunke (22) of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Rohit Anil Dudhe (22) of Gurwar Peth. According to the police,Vairat was a frequent visitor at Jats shop. A police team comprising Assistant Inspector M K Kulkarni nabbed the suspects on Tuesday. The suspects reportedly told the police that they committed the robbery using a fake pistol. Police said the three are historysheeters. Vairat has earlier been booked in four crimes and Salunke in nine crimes.
