Skeletons of two adults were unearthed during renovation work at a bungalow in Talegaon.

Skeletons of two adults were unearthed during renovation work at a bungalow in Talegaon on Friday. Police said they have sent the skeletons to the anatomy department of the B J Medical College for tests.

As per the information given by Talegaon police,a resident recently bought a 13-year-old old bungalow at Vanashreenagar. During renovation work of the bungalow, workers found a human skull, police said. Amol Chaudhari, police sub-inspector with Talegaon police station, said,“The workers informed us about the skull. On Friday,we dug the land further and found the two skeletons. The land was dug up in presence of the tehsildar and medical officers.” He said the police would be able to comment on the issue only after getting the expert report.

Police inspector Sanjay Nikam said,“One of the bodies is wearing a necklace of beads and a scarf that women generally use. We are not sure of their genders and ages.”

Police said primary observations by the medical officers said one skeleton is of a woman and another of a man. The body of suspected woman has a tattered salwar kameez on it. They could have been buried about five to six years ago, police said. “We have asked the earlier owner of the bungalow who is a resident of Mumbai to get in touch with us to help us in the investigation. Police said he had rented the bungalow to someone else and the place was not occupied for long.

Vivek Inamdar,a local resident, said the incident has created panic in the area. “There was never a cemetry in that area which is raising eyebrows over the unearthing of skeletons. Only after the complete probe,we would be able to know the real truth,” he said.
