The Western Railway (WR) officials will be monitoring the arrangements made to tackle the huge rush of passengers during the festive season.
According to Shyam Sunder Gupta,chief spokesperson for WR,the monitoring would start on October 7 and would continue till October 27. In a bid to manage the rush,the WR will display reservation charts well in advance before the departure of trains. Plus,the unreserved coaches will be in locked condition to avoid seat cornering by anti social elements and porters. There will also be proper queuing arrangements for unreserved passengers.
Besides this,drinking water arrangements,departmental catering,proper working of licensed porters,functioning of assistance booth manned by mechanical and electrical staff,functioning of public address system and cleanliness on station premises at Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus will be closely monitored.
