Man arrested for stabbing woman in Worli
According to the police complaint, he allegedly had an affair with the woman, who lives in the same area.

(File Photo)A 46-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to kill a 30-year-old woman by stabbing her in Worli on Friday evening.
The accused was allegedly having an affair with the woman, who is married, the police said.
The accused Lingappa Angargi lives in Premnagar area of Worli. According to the police complaint, he allegedly had an affair with the woman, who lives in the same area.
After her husband came to know about it, his family as well as Lingappa’s family had asked Lingappa to stay away from the woman. But even after that, he used to reach the woman’s house occasionally in a drunk state. The woman’s husband had warned him to stay away from his wife, the police said.
On Friday, her husband had gone to Worli Naka area to fetch vegetables. When he returned, he spotted a panic-stricken Lingappa running in front of his house. There were also bloodstains on his shirt, the police said.
After he entered the house, he saw his injured wife on the floor. She was rushed to KEM hospital in Parel, where she is in the ICU. She has sustained serious injuries in the stomach, the police added.
The Worli police registered a case of attempted murder on the complaint of the woman’s husband and arrested Lingappa. The police have seized the knife used in the attack. Lingappa has been charged under Section 307 of the IPC.
