“We had decided to take a case under Section 498 A (cruelty against woman) of the Indian Penal Code. However, when medical reports of the victim came,we learnt that the cause of death was compression to her neck. A case of murder was then registered against her husband and in-laws,” K T Vidhate senior inspector of Kalamboli police said.

Vidhate said the three persons were arrested on Tuesday after a post-mortem reports of the victim had come out.

Police said,Yadav’s elder sister Mamta (30) was called by her in-laws on Tuesday and told that her sister had committed suicide.

Mamta has alleged that her sister was harassed by her in-laws over monetary issues. “Madhu told us that they would regularly call her office to see what time she came in and what time she left. During the calls, they often asked how much money she made. Things had reached a boiling point, and my sister was told by her office to solve domestic problems first and then report for work. I have a feeling that this argument may have led to her murder,” she said.
