Even as the seat-sharing formula for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections is yet to be decided by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) constituents, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray began a constituency wise review of the party’s poll preparations on Wednesday. In the next four days, Uddhav will review the constituencies in all districts of Maharashtra and ask the cadre to prepare for the polls, be it as MVA or without MVA, which comprises Shiv Sena (UBT), the Congress and the NCP. According to party functionaries, Uddhav has also asked to prepare a probable list of candidates from each constituency for the Lok Sabha as well as assembly polls. “Uddhav ji has called region wise meetings to review the preparation and to take stock of the situation on the ground. We as Maha Vikas Aghadi have decided to contest the elections together for now and Uddhav ji has given us instructions to prepare for them accordingly. The district head, taluka head and important leaders of our constituency were present in this meeting,” said Aamshya Padavi, Sena (UBT) MLC from Nandurbar. Another party functionary said, “Uddhav ji has asked everyone to increase the organisational structure of the party. Apart from Lok Sabha, even assembly and local body polls were reviewed. We were told that so far we are going to contest polls as MVA but be prepared to contest independently, too.”
