After Uddhav Thackeray’s rule, people of Maharashtra know who is useless: Devendra Fadnavis
Devendra Fadnavis was responding to media questions on Thackeray's criticism of the Home Minister following an attack on a woman activist of the Shiv Sena (UBT) in Thane.

After seeing the 2.5-year-rule of Uddhav Thackeray, entire Maharashtra knows who is useless, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday.
Fadnavis was responding to media questions on Thackeray’s criticism of the Home Minister following an attack on a woman activist of the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Monday in Thane. Thackeray had called the Fadnavis administration “useless”.
On Tuesday Fadnavis said, “When two cabinet ministers were lodged in prison, Thackeray as the CM had no courage to ask for their resignations. He had surrendered before his allies to retain his CM chair. What moral right does he have to speak today?”
According to Fadnavis, “It is the same Thackeray who as the chief minister had recommended Sachin Vaze’s appointment and had tried to shield his wrongdoing even after it came to light.”
“As the CM, a person who did not step out of his house for 2.5 years has no moral authority to talk about governance and administration,” Fadnavis said, adding, “We don’t cross our limits and don’t ignore decency. But that should not be perceived as our weakness. Just by raising your voice and abusing us, you don’t prove anything. The day we start talking, we will ensure you run from pillar to post.”
He further said, “Thackeray had used Narendra Modi’s photographs to win elections and after the polls, he joined hands with rivals Congress and the NCP. You must answer to the people.”
Stung by Thackeray’s barb of calling his administration “phadtoosh (useless)” Fadnavis said, “I am a Nagpurian. I am well versed with language below this level but I will not use it. It is not my culture. The people will give the Thackerays a befitting reply.”
He further said that ever since he has taken charge as the Home Minister, it has “unsettled several people who fear that their economic wrongdoings will get exposed”. “All those who have indulged in wrongdoings will be put in prison and I will ensure it,” Fadnavis said.
“Every untoward incident anywhere in Maharashtra will be probed. The police will take appropriate action. Those who committed wrong will be booked and punished. At the same time, if anybody is trying to gain political brownie points using an untoward incident, the same will be dealt with strictly,” Fadnavis said.
