A 55-year-old trader,Anish Ahmed Kalse, ended his life by jumping off the terrace of a 16-storey building at Juhu galli on Wednesday morning. Police said they could not ascertain why he had taken the extreme step.
Kalse was staying with his wife Shagufta (43) in the A wing of Atlantic Building in Sagar City at Juhu galli, said senior inspector M Avhad of the DN Nagar police.
On Wednesday morning,Kalse had allegedly rammed his car into another car while parking. He had gone off before the watchman at the main gates could talk to him. The watchman had tried to locate him but could not find him anywhere nearby.
After some time, the watchman of the C wing of the building heard a loud noise. When he went to check what happened,he saw Kalse lying on the ground. The watchman immediately alerted the other society members and police were also informed about the incident. Kalse was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead owing to head injuries and multiple fractures. Meanwhile,Shagufta,Kalses wife and a bank employee, was informed about the incident. She arrived at the spot soon.
It seems that Kalse went to the terrace of the building and jumped to his death. However,he has not left any suicide note. It is difficult to ascertain what made him take the extreme step. We have not recorded the statement of Shagufta yet as she is in a state of shock, said the officer. The couple does not have any children.
