Those calling Sena ‘fake’ won’t hesitate to call even RSS ‘fake’: Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that those who call the Shiv Sena, which stood firmly behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his time of trouble, as fake would not hesitate to call the RSS fake as well.

“Prime Minister Modi taunts the Shiv Sena (UBT) as ‘fake Shiv Sena’ during his visits to the state. It will be clear after the Lok Sabha results as to which Sena is fake in reality. Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray stood firmly behind Modi during his time of crisis. Modi calls the same Shiv Sena ‘fake’.  Tomorrow these same people will not hesitate in calling the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as fake Sangh. I want to know whether the present RSS cadre like the current policy of the BJP,” Thackeray said during Loksatta’s Lok Samvad event in Mumbai.

He also took on the BJP over its accusations that he was now appeasing Muslims and said that the BJP had nothing to show on the workfront in the last decade. He also stated that he was unlikely to welcome back those who had sided with Eknath Shinde.

“It will be an injustice to those who have remained loyal to me. Some fled fearing arrest. But Sanjay Raut went to jail. Our workers like Suraj Chavan is in jail today. The men on whom accusations similar to what were made against Chavan are today walking around with the CM. There is no action against him. I would like to make it clear that the doors of the Sena are permanently closed for these traitors,” Thackeray said.
