Thorat terms his nephew MLC Tambe’s comments on Rahul Gandhi ‘childish’

Senior Congress leader and former minister Balasaheb Thorat on Monday termed his nephew and independent MLC Satyajeet Tambe’s remarks on party leader Rahul Gandhi as “childish”.
“We should be indebted to those who have done something for us. The Congress party has given us a lot. Congress has given a lot to Satyajeet as well. Satyajeet’s words were childish and he still has a lot to learn. Some self-reflection will do him good,” the Congress leader sazid.
Thorat was responding to Satyajeet’s recent interview, in which he criticised Gandhi.
“It is my open challenge to any Congress leader in the state to take an appointment and meet Rahul Gandhi. Be it the state president or any other leader. Forget this, any leader should try and call him. If this is the leadership, then how can a worker fight?” Satyajeet had said in his interview with a Marathi newspaper.
Satyajeet was unavailable for comments on his uncle’s reply.
Satyajeet, the former state president of Maharashtra Youth Congress, was suspended from the party for six years in January 2023 after he filed his nomination from the Nashik graduate constituency as an independent despite the party choosing his father and sitting MLC Sudhir Tambe.
Sudhir Tambe was already suspended for not filing the nomination. Satyajeet went on to win the election as an independent candidate.
