The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court directed Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane to tender an unconditional written apology for violating the court orders to terminate the services of sub-divisional officer Sanjeevkumar More of Aurangabad district. It is unfathomable that a minister should pass an order without perusing the entire judgment of the court. The decision taken by him (Rane) was not consistent with the court directives, the court said. Depending on the tenor of the apology, the Court may consider whether to accept the same or to pass appropriate orders as may be advised and warranted in the situation of the case, it said. The next hearing is scheduled on February 18. A scrutiny committee had nullified the appointment of Sanjeevkumar More on June 24,2004,a tehsildar who had joined the Sillod tehsil of Aurnagabad district in 1996 in the scheduled tribe category,as he was unable to prove hs scheduled tribe status.
