Mamta Hulke and Rashimi Sheregar emerged the sprint queens by winning the 100m and 200 metres in the girls under-18 and under-16 categories respectively on the second day of the Mumbai Suburban District Athletic championships at Sports Authority of India sports complex at Kandivali on Monday. Sharing the final days honours with them was Sarika Volla,of Ryan International,who emerged best in the long jump and high jump events in the girls under-16 category. Mamta,who ran the 100m run in 12.7 secs was well challenged by Shweta Hakke of VPM Sports Club,who timed 12.9 secs. Even in the 200m,the standings remained the same with Mamta pipping Shweta at the post again. Likewise,Rashmi triumphed in both the sprint events,but she was hardly challenged. Rashmi timed 13.0 in the 100m,while Shweta Thakur finished way behind second with 13.9 secs. it was the same story in the 200m,in which Rashmi clocked 28.6 seconds while Advika Agarwal was finished second,clocking 29.5 secs.
