On the occasion of Dussehra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Tuesday announced ‘every home NCP’ campaign where the party workers will be visiting one crore houses in Maharashtra and propagating the milestone decisions taken by its veteran leader Sharad Pawar during his political career.

The campaign will run in constituencies where the party has a strong existence, said NCP state president Jayant Patil, adding that it is also meant to connect with new active party workers.

The public outreach campaign announced will have the tagline ‘Me Maharashtravadi, Ladha Asmitech Aplya Swabhimanacha’ (I am from Maharashtra, Fight for pride, our self-respect) below Pawar’s photograph, said Patil.

The announcement comes on a day when Pawar will be present at the flagging off of Yuva Sabgharsh Yatra undertaken by NCP MLA and his grandnephew Rohit Pawar.

Following the split within the NCP, where Ajit Pawar along with his supporters joined hands with the BJP and staked claim on the party name as well as symbol, the Sharad Pawar-affiliated faction has decided to reach out to masses and connect with the public.

“Dussehra is known as a day when good overcomes the evil. It is also known as a day when a mission is started to conquer the new territory. We are launching our campaign today keeping this in mind,” said Patil.
