In 2022, 11 fans lost their phones, in 2019, two fans lost their phones and in 2017, at least 13 fans lost their phones outside Khan’s bungalow on his birthday, police said. At least 17 fans of actor Shah Rukh Khan who turned up to wish him on his 58th birthday lost their mobile phones to thieves outside the actor’s residence, Mannat, on Thursday, following which the Bandra police registered two FIRs.
According to police, like every year, hundreds of fans gathered outside Khan’s bungalow at Bandstand to catch a glimpse of the actor who came out to greet and accept their birthday wishes. Despite tight police security in the area, thieves struck and robbed the mobile phones of over a dozen fans.
Arbaz Khan, 23, a Santacruz resident, who came to Bandstand around 12.30 lost his mobile phone that he had kept in his pocket. When he was inquiring around, he discovered that others had also lost their mobile phones, too, a police officer said.
Arbaz and 15 others approached the police and registered an FIR. Among the fans are people from Pune, Sangli, and Kolhapur who came to see Khan, police said.
A second FIR was registered on the complaint of Nikhil Bhatt, 24, a businessman from Lower Parel. Police are further probing the matter.
