For many Class XII science students,IIT-JEE results are more awaited than school results. So,Wednesday brought cheer and relief to many in the city. Kandarp Khandwala, the city topper in IIT-JEE,had been preparing for the entrance test even before studying for his CBSE exams. With 98.60 per cent in Class X,he was declared a topper in 2009. And with such a score, the boy could have secured admission in any good college. However,he preferred to join P C Bhatia Junior College in Kandivli just to prepare for JEE. I joined the college because it has an integrated IIT-JEE coaching, along with HSC curriculum, he said. Though Kandarp is happy to have topped the IIT Bombay zone,he wishes his all-India ranking was better. I hope to score at least 85 per cent in the Board exams now. I want to pursue computer science at IIT-Bombay, he said. Another city JEE topper,Garima Maheshwari, and a student of Mithibai College also focussed only on JEE. I had studied more for JEE and expect to score only 80 per cent in the Board exams. My JEE score is good, but my all-India ranking is not. I wish to get admission in IIT-Bs electrical engineering course. While the results for IIT-JEE are out,AIEEE and MHT-CET results are expected by next month.
