Based on the complaint, Maharashtra cyber case of digital piracy has been filed.

Lawyer Prashant Patil who represents Badshah said, “My client, Mr Badshah was summoned by the Cyber Crime Department of Mumbai Police for the matter pertaining to FairPlay app. There is an alleged complaint filed against Fairplay app for breaching the copyrights of a reputed company and broadcasting IPL cricket matches. Pertaining to these allegations, certain celebrities/artistes were summoned in the capacity of witness.”

“Badshah was summoned as a witness under section 160 CrPC and not as an accused… Badshah appeared before the cyber crime department and duly cooperated with the investigation agency. He has produced bank detail records, which clearly reflect that Badshah has not committed any offence. If called again , Badshah shall further cooperate,” Patil said.
