Responding to the Congress leader’s remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said people don’t take Rahul Gandhi seriously. “Even the Congress does not take Rahul Gandhi seriously as its leader. Then why should I take him seriously,” Fadnavis said. “The Prime Minister has given a corruption-free government. Those who are corrupt and indulging in unprincipled politics have reasons to fear Modi. But the common man has faith in Modi’s leadership and trusts him for his protection and welfare,” he said while addressing a BJP meet at Uttan in Mumbai’s suburbs. 🕐 1.30 | 22-11-2023 📍 Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Uttan | दु. १.३० वा. | २२-११-२०२३ 📍 रामभाऊ म्हाळगी प्रबोधिनी, उत्तन. 🪷2 Day Training Session for LokSabha & VidhanSabha Election In-Charges for MahaVijay 2024 organised by BJP Maharashtra 🪷भारतीय जनता पार्टी - महाराष्ट्र… pic.twitter.com/lf8O02JXHY — Devendra Fadnavis (@Dev_Fadnavis) November 22, 2023 Fadnavis emphasised on strengthening the organisation at the booth level. “The BJP should work hard to ensure victory of each and every candidate in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls. The party should put in equal effort for candidates of the BJP and its alliance partners Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). There should be no discrimination. The party should treat every candidate as their own,” he said. While emphasising how the period 2024 to 2029 is going to be crucial for India, Fadnavis urged the party to consolidate the organisation with greater determination and resolve to maximise the electoral gains in the 2024 polls. The BJP leader also spoke about the importance of creating awareness about voting. “The party should ensure maximum people come out and exercise their franchise. In a democracy every individual has been bestowed voting rights,” he said. Later, Fadnavis drove to Pandharpur in Solapur district. Fadnavis along with his wife will perform the annual Kartik Ekadashi pooja at the temple of Lord Vitthal.
