22-year-old man injured after Porsche car crashes into divider on Western Express Highway

According to police, the incident happened around 3 am when the injured, Neo Saons, lost control of the car due to a pothole on the road near Mogra metro railway station.

A 22-year-old Mira Road resident driving a Porsche car sustained severe injuries he lost control over the vehicle on the Western Express Highway (WEH) that crashed into a divider in Jogeshwari (East) Thursday morning.

According to police, the incident happened around 3 am when the injured, Neo Saons, lost control of the car due to a pothole on the road near Mogra metro railway station. Saons’s friend, who was following him in a BMW car, rushed him to the hospital. They were heading to Lokhandwala, police said.

Deputy commissioner of police Datta Nalawade said Saons suffered severe leg fracture and the car’s front portion was damaged. There was speculation that both friends were racing on the Western Express Highway, Nalawade said adding that it could not be established from CCTV footage.

Jogeshwari police registered a case against Saons under section 281 (rash or negligent driving that endangers human life or is likely to cause harm), 125 (cause grievous hurt due to recklessness or negligence), along with 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
