PM Modi inaugurates Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express: All you need to know
Officials say this Vande Bharat train will have good occupancy as the route sees heavy rush throughout the year owing to Goa being a tourist place.

Among the five new Vande Bharat Express trains inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday from Bhopal’s Rani Kamalapati station is the Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express. The train will be Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express and will run between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station.

Goa's first semi-high speed train will run on these days
The Madgaon-CSMT Vande Bharat Express will be Goa's first semi-high speed train. The train will run between Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa's Madgaon station and will operate on all days, except Fridays, in seasons other than monsoon.
During monsoon, from CSMT, Vande Bharat train will run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From Madgaon, the train will run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express' route and schedule
The Vande Bharat train, with eight coaches, will have halts at CSMT, Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Khed, Ratnagiri, and Kankavali stations in Maharashtra and Thivim and Madgaon in Goa. Train No-22229 will start its journey from CSMT in Mumbai at 5.25 am and reach at Madgaon at 3.30 pm. Train No-22230 will start its journey from Madgaon at 12.20 pm and will reach CSMT Mumbai at 10.25 pm.

Longest Vande Bharat route in Maharashtra
The train will cover a distance of 586 km, the longest route covered by a Vande Bharat train in Maharashtra. The Central Railway said the Madgaon-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will have a top speed of 160 km. It will help save about one hour of journey time when compared to Tejas Express, the current fastest train between the two places which takes over eight hours.

How much will you need to shell out to travel in this Vande Bharat train?
The fare in an AC Chair Car in Vande Bharat Express will be Rs 1,815 from CSMT to Madgaon, while the Executive Chair Car fare will be Rs 3,360. Meanwhile, the Madgaon-CSMT AC Chair Car fare will be Rs 1,970, while the Executive Chair Car fare will be Rs 3,535.

Officials say this Vande Bharat train will also have good occupancy as the route sees heavy rush throughout the year owing to Goa being a tourist destination. The train will make the experience of natural views of the Sahyadri mountain range and the beauty of the Western Ghats even more memorable, the Central Railway said.

The other Vande Bharat trains from Mumbai
From Mumbai, three Vande Bharat trains were already operational—Mumbai to Shirdi, Mumbai to Solapur and Mumbai to Gandhinagar. These three trains have 70 per cent occupancy.
