Parents move HC against best of five system

Twenty-one parents of students studying in ICSE schools filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court against the government resolution to implement the ‘best of five’ system for SSC passouts seeking admissions in junior colleges.

Twenty-one parents of students studying in ICSE schools filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court against the government resolution to implement the ‘best of five’ system for SSC passouts seeking admissions in junior colleges. Arguing that the the best of five system should be implemented even for ICSE students who write examinations for seven subjects,parents said the current system would give an undue advantage to SSC students and would be unfair for ICSE students. Dr CV Hedge,one of the parents and petitioners,said that if the policy is implemented,it should be implemented for all boards and not just SSC.
