Pahalgam attack: Bodies of all victims brought home, received at airport with solemn honours

At Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1, the bodies were received  with solemn honours. Security was intensified across the terminal, with ambulances stationed in advance and access limited to family members and authorised personnel.

The bodies of four Mumbai residents who were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack arrived  in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The bodies of the two victims from Pune were routed via Delhi and transported directly to their hometowns,.

At Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1, the bodies were received  with solemn honours. Security was intensified across the terminal, with ambulances stationed in advance and access limited to family members and authorised personnel.

A contingent of Cabinet ministers, MPs, and MLAs were present at the airport to receive the bodies. They included Cabinet ministers Gulabrao Patil, Dada Bhuse, Ravindra Chavan, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Ashish Shelar; and Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde.

The first ambulance left the cargo gate around 4.30 pm, carrying the body of Panvel resident Dilip Desale. The body was received by grieving family members. Minister Dada Bhuse, and Panvel BJP MLA Prashant Thakur escorted the family members.

Three more ambulances transported the bodies of Dombivli residents Sanjay Laxman Lele, Atul Shrikant Mone, and Hemant Suhas Joshi. Their remains were received by family members who were escorted by MP Shrikant Shinde and ministers Gulabrao Patil and Yogesh Kadam.

The funerals were conducted late in the evening.
