IIT-Bombay students will organise an online Twitter meet on Saturday to invite suggestions from IITians and students from colleges across the city for conducting Pro-nites — one of the most popular events at their cultural festival Mood Indigo. The organisers of Mood-Indigo will use these tweets to gauge the expectations of students.

Mood- I,as it is fondly called,sees a footfall of over 70,000 each year. A crowd over 20,000 is expected to attend the popular pro-nites,organised for four nights. Mood I will be hosted from December 18 to 21.

Mood I has so far staged international bands like Finnish band Ensiferum in 2008,English progressive rock band and Grammy nominees Porcupine Tree in 2009 and Swedish metal band Katatonia in 2010. Pro-nites has also hosted performers like Asha Bhosle (once with R D Burman in 1981 and again in 2010),Jagjit Singh,Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy ,Sonu Nigam,Shaan,Amit Trivedi ,Kailash Kher,Mohit Chauhan,KK,Lucky Ali,Amit Kumar,Kavita Seth,Pankaj Udhas,Raghav Sachar and Javed Ali.

Maestros like Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia,Ustad Zakir Hussain,Pandit Bhimsen Joshi,Pandit Jasraj,Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma,Pandit Vikku Vinayakram,Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra,Sitar maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan had also performed at Mood I.

“This year,we wanted to have maximum participation from the public,not just in the competitions but also in helping us organise the events. We had conducted a public poll to decide the theme of the festival. Now we want to know what national and international bands and artistes want to watch at Mood I,” said Ketav Mehta,core group member and media in-charge of Mood-I 2011. Ritanshu Kashyap,in-charge of Pro-nites at Mood Indigo 2011 says,“We receive numerous calls almost every day from music enthusiasts and fans from different colleges,enquiring about Pro-nites.” The online Twitter meet will start at 8.30 am,on Saturday.
