MHADA will allot tender on construction -cum-development basis contract.
The Mumbai Housing & Area Development Board (MHADB), a regional unit of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), has re-invited tender for the proposed redevelopment of the Abhyuday Nagar in Cotton Green of South Mumbai.
The tender was re-invited as there was no bidders for the initial tender floated in October, 2024, a senior official of MHADA said.
“If the re-invited tender also fails to get bidders, then a tender with revised conditions may be floated,” said the official.
The re-invited tender bids will be opened on March 3.
MHADA had invited first tenders to redevelop the Abhyuday Nagar colony spread on a 32.98 acres of sprawling area comprising 48 old buildings having both residential and commercial units in October, 2024. Also there are slum settlements in the layout and they too will be provided houses.
Despite multiple extensions, no developers expressed interest in the project.
The tender mandates developer to offer units measuring 635 square ft to 3,283 tenements with 208 square ft. For residents of 36 tenements with 192 square ft, the developer should provide homes of 622 square ft .
And for eight tenements of 486 square ft area, the increased area should be 1,199 square ft and for eight tenants of 315 square ft area, the new houses should be of 777 square ft .
In March 2024, the Maharashtra government approved the cluster redevelopment of the colony, and MHADA was designated as the nodal agency to oversee the project.
