Almost five months after a former priest,Peter Bombacha, was found stabbed to death in his house at Vasai, police have not made any headway in the probe and no one has been arrested or detained. The local police claim the case was transferred to the local crime branch (LCB) of Thane rural police a few days after the murder.

Asked about the progress in the probe,Senior Inspector Fateshsingh Patil of the LCB said,“We have not got any clue about the killer. We are still investigating. We believe the motive would be personal as there were no signs of robbery at the place. Many people have been interrogated in the case but no arrests have been made so far.”

Peter Bombacha (77),a former priest who used to run a clinic for alcoholics, was residing above a chapel on Bhabola Sadhor Road,Vasai (west).

His body was found by the members of the chapel on April 29.
