Leaders of the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena will visit New Delhi Thursday to complete the seat-sharing talks in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections.

After the first meet of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena leaders in Delhi on the first week of March, the BJP leadership has postponed the meetings thrice.

The delay in announcement of the formula has created unease among the NCP camp as the notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha election, which has five seats from Maharashtra, was issued Wednesday.

“We have demanded Gadchiroli seat from the BJP which will be in the first phase. The decision on seat sharing should happen soon as the last date for filing notification is March 27,” a senior NCP leader said.

Party’s state unit chief Sunil Tatkare said that he along with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Rajya sabha MP Praful Patel will be meeting BJP leadrship on Thursday in Delhi.

“The announcement will be made within next two days” he said, adding Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will also be in the meeting.

The NCP wants to contest on eight-nine seats which include Lakshdweep as well. However, the BJP had initially indicated that it will offer only four-five seats.
