The BJP president JP Nadda has advised the state unit to remove glitches and address concerns of alliance partners to keep Mahayuti strong and together in the coming Assembly polls.

Nadda arrived in Mumbai on Saturday and paid a visit to Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesha. He also visited Chief Minister Eknath Shinde residence at Varsha and later deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s residence Sagar in Malabar Hills to offer prayers in the ongoing 10 Ganpati festival. He also paid a visit to Sarvajanik Ganesh in Bandra West organised by Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar.

Apart from festivities, Nadda interacted with the state BJP core committee members at Fadnavis’ residence.

A senior party leader requesting anonymity said, “Nadda spoke about the challenges and preparation for Assembly polls.” Nadda, said the party leader, urged them to work as a team to strengthen Mahayuti – the three-party conglomeration of BJP, Sena and NCP.

Amidst the ongoing bickering within Mahayuti before Assembly polls, sources said that Nadda emphasised the need for team work. “BJP is the biggest party. As the big brother, BJP should tackle challenges related to coordination and accomodate its alliance partners.”

It must be mentioned that a section within the right wing had been skeptical about the alliance with NCP led by deputy CM Ajit Pawar. In 2024 LS polls, Ajit Pawar failed to deliver desired results. The BJP, which consequently performed poorly, also realised that its alliance with NCP had proved detrimental in Parliament polls.

However, Fadnavis has repeatedly maintained that BJP will contest Assembly polls with alliance partners Sena and NCP.
