Close to a month after he threatened to quit the party,BJP leader Gopinath Munde attended the party state executive committee meeting here on Saturday. Munde had launched a revolt within the party after Yogesh Gogawale was sidelined for the post of Pune BJP president and Nitin Gadkari loyalist Vikas Mathkari was named instead.
Though he did not address the subsequent press conference, party Maharashtra in-charge Venkaiah Naidu said senior party leaders would take part in the partys upcoming protests and agitations. We are working together. State unit chief and deputy leader will come together when needed. There is no rift, he said.
The party executive meet was held on Saturday morning. It was decided that we should expose the true nature of the Congres-NCP before the people, Sudhir Mungantiwar said.
The party has decided to launch a door-to-door campaign from September 25 to October 2 to gather citizens support against the Congress, wherein it would urge citizens to take a pledge that they would not vote for the Congress in the future. It has also decided to form district-level committees to work out if the BJP,the Shiv Sena and the RPI could contest the upcoming elections together. The RPI,a longtime ally of the NCP,has joined hands with the Sena and BJP,though a formal coalition has yet not been formed. A janjagran rally will also be conducted against corruption, black money and inflation from August 9 to 21.
