In relief to law students, Mumbai University extends LLM admission deadline till Sept 30
Mumbai University’s department of Law on Friday evening issued a circular declaring extension for the LLM admissions until September 30, 2023.

In a relief to over 750 LLB students who are waiting for their re-evaluation result for over two months, the Mumbai University has extended LLM admission deadline till September 30, which was originally ending on Friday.
The decision was announced on Friday following complaints by several students stating that they are going to miss out on LLM admissions for no fault. “My LLB result was out on July 12 and I applied for re-evaluation immediately on July 14. But varsity has not yet declared the result. Why should I miss out on LLM admission because the university has delayed results?” asked one of the students who on Friday met authorities at Mumbai University requesting for extension in LLM admission.
Adding to this, another student said, “My failure in LLB is also due to some assessment issue by the varsity. It is impossible for me to fail in theory of a subject in which I am among the top performers in internal assessment. After seeing a photocopy of my answer-sheet, I am completely convinced about the errors.”
A total of 1,722 students had applied for re-evaluation. Out of them, 764 students are still waiting for the result. According to students, after the LLB result, there was enough time to apply for re-evaluation and get the result before LLM admissions would start. “But we were shocked to know that varsity was not able to declare re-evaluation for over two months,” said the student.
Vaibhav Thorat, a former Mumbai University Senate member, who had written to the Vice Chancellors with students’ requests, said, “Delay in results has become a regular phenomenon at the varsity causing issues for students. It is really unfortunate that varsity cannot declare a re-evaluation result in over two months. The authorities need to work on resolving the situation.”
