Mumbai News Highlights: A fire broke out at a mall in Thane, Maharashtra, on Tuesday morning, gutting two shops on the first floor of the building. The fire, which started around 8 am, completely destroyed a shoe store and an adjacent outlet located on Ghodbunder Road. No injuries were reported. Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell Chief Yasin Tadvi confirmed that local fire officials and the regional disaster management team rushed to the scene, bringing the fire under control after approximately an hour. Mumbai police had secured 19 fingerprints of the suspect who allegedly attacked Khan on January 16 during a failed robbery attempt at his Bandra house. In other news, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has flagged 81 schools in the city operating illegally and directed their managements to close them immediately. The list, which includes 79 English medium and 2 Hindi medium schools, names several institutions run by prominent business houses. Most of these unauthorised schools are situated in the Mumbra and Diva areas of Thane. The TMC has advised parents against enrolling their children in these schools and has warned of stringent action against the managements if they fail to comply with the closure orders.
