(Express photo by Amit Chakravarty)Mumbai’s elevated Metro lines 2A and 7 have reached a ridership milestone of 10 crore passengers since the services began on April 2, 2022, according to the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL).
MMMOCL, an undertaking of MMRDA, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of these two Metro lines, while MMRDA constructed the elevated corridors.
Metro lines 2A and 7 span 35 km, connecting Dahisar to Andheri through the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai via Link Road and the Western Express Highway. Line 2A covers 18.6 km from Dahisar to DN Nagar in Andheri West, taking 40 minutes, while Line 7 covers the distance from Dahisar East to Gundavali in Andheri East in 35 minutes.
The Metro lines operate 257 trips daily between 5.55 am and 11 pm.
