The AQI in Mumbai is on a steady rise, as per the detailed analysis of Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 and PM 10 — two of the worst pollutants present in the air. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai was in the 'moderate' category on Saturday morning. The Mumbai AQI reading by the Air Quality Early Warning System read 139 at 5:30 am. The AQI reading is categorised as Good (0-50), Satisfactory (51-100), Moderately Polluted (101-200), Poor (201-300), Very Poor (301-400), and Severe (401-500). Thus, higher the AQI reading, the unhealthier it gets to breathe. Mumbai AQI: Air quality in various areas Among the most polluted zones in Mumbai was Colaba (AQI:189), followed by Khedwadi Bandra East (180), Malad Fire Station area (179), Vasai West (AQI:175) Chembur (170), Nandadeep Garden-Bandra Traffic Junction (169), Kalamboli Navi mumbai (164), Bhayandar West (163), Sanpada Navi Mumbai (157), Sion (135), and Kurla (130). Mumbai weather forecast The temperature remained higher than that in North India. The daily weather report by the India Meteorological Department stated that the southwest monsoon further withdrew from remaining parts of Gujarat and some parts of Maharashtra on Friday.
