The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai remained in the 'moderate' category on Tuesday morning, with a small rise in reading recorded. The AQI in Mumbai rose from 135 to 143 on Tuesday morning, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System at 5:30 am. The AQI in Mumbai is on a steady rise after rainfall subsided in the city, as per the detailed analysis of Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 and PM 10. It is expected that Mumbai's air quality would take a further dip as winter season approaches, slowing down wind patterns. The highest AQI in Mumbai was recorded in Colaba, at 180, close to the 'poor' category. In other areas across Mumbai, the AQI was recorded to be in the 'moderate' or 'satisfactory' category. The AQI reading is categorised as Good (0-50), Satisfactory (51-100), Moderately Polluted (101-200), Poor (201-300), Very Poor (301-400), and Severe (401-500). Higher the AQI reading, the unhealthier it is to breathe. Pune air quality today The air quality index in Pune was also recorded in the 'moderate' category, at 134. While the air quality is slightly worse than yesterday, it is lower than the average AQI of Maharashtra on Tuesday. Just like Mumbai, it is likely that Pune's air quality will get gradually worse as winter approaches. Mumbai weather today After weeks of irregular rainfall, Mumbai and neighbouring cities are predicted to experience clear skies today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The minimum temperature in Mumbai is expected to settle at 26 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is likely to be 31 degrees Celsius.
