Mumbai AQI Level Today, 16 October 2025: The air quality index (AQI) in Mumbai is 124 on Thursday morning (October 16), as reported by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. This falls under the ‘moderate’ category and marks a slight dip from Wednesday morning at 138 and 143 on Tuesday.
The highest AQI was recorded at Bandra (216), closely followed by Chembur at 206, both of which fall under the ‘poor’ category. According to trends, the air quality in Mumbai is likely to take a steep dip in the coming month as winter approaches and wind patterns slow down.
The AQI reading is categorised as Good (0-50), Satisfactory (51-100), Moderately Polluted (101-200), Poor (201-300), Very Poor (301-400), and Severe (401-500). Higher the AQI reading, the unhealthier it is to breathe.
The weather in Mumbai is around 28°C and light to moderate rain is likely to occur at few places in the districts of South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, forecast IMD.
Pune recorded an AQI of 96, which falls under the ‘satisfactory’ category, marking a dip from the 129 AQI recorded yesterday. Air quality in Pune remains significantly lower than that of Mumbai. The temperature recorded on Thursday morning is around 21.8°C.
